Since their inception Gardner have always been at the forefront of new tackle developments and the latest offering from the Guildford-based firm will be one that will find a place in the tackle boxes of all anglers, irrespective of what species they fish for.
It is difficult to envisage a development to the swivel that may change the way you fish but with the release of their corkscrew range this is exactly what Gardner have achieved.
Comprising a 'standard' eye and barrel arrangement at one end the swivel terminates in a three-turn corkscrew and loop at the other end. The arrangement makes for easy attachment of terminal items and, more importantly, the attachment may offer superior strength, security and tangle-free properties when compared with the usual snap and cross link swivels employed by the majority of coarse anglers.
Designed originally for lure fishing these swivels will indeed find great favour with anglers using artificials but there is great scope for experimentation with the quick and easy attachment of leads and feeders as well as looped hooklinks - the Dynamite stick has never looked so good! Quick change eel and pike traces, helicopter lead attachments, the possibilities are endless.
The snap link swivel is dead - long live the corkscrew!
Supplied in a size 8 that will fit all current lead inserts and clips the swivels will be in all Gardner stockists in the very near future with a rrp of £2.99 for a packet of five.
